Hawaiʻi Foodbank has an urgent need for volunteers to support our Survivor Daily Rations distribution on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at our warehouse at 2611 Kilihau Street in Māpunapuna.
Survivor Daily Rations are shelf-stable meal packs designed for disaster situations when electricity, refrigeration, or cooking facilities may be unavailable. Volunteers will load boxes into vehicles as community members move through the distribution line.
We need 75 volunteers total, with 25 volunteers per shift:
Shift 1: 8–10:30 a.m.
Shift 2: 10 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
Shift 3: Noon–2:30 p.m.
Physical requirements: All volunteer positions involve loading boxes into vehicles. This is a fast-paced and physically demanding opportunity that requires lifting and carrying heavy boxes, bending, walking, and standing throughout the shift. Please sign up only if you can safely perform these activities.
Parking: Volunteers are asked not to park at the Hawaiʻi Foodbank warehouse. Hundreds of vehicles are expected to pass through the distribution area, and traffic near the warehouse and along Kilihau Street will be extremely congested.
Please park off-site along Kakoi Street or in the parking lot near Wendy’s and walk to the warehouse. Allow additional time to park and arrive before your scheduled shift.
Please wear casual, comfortable clothing and fully enclosed shoes. Volunteers will be working outdoors, so please also wear sunscreen and a hat and bring water.
